World Vision Child Sponsorship
Pretty lil girl. She's Batoul Ali NASSAR from Marjeyoun, Lebanon. She's turning 5 this 18th June and is currently attending kindergarten.
I was happy when World Vision assigned this lil girl to me for sponsorship. Secretly, I was hoping for a girl as I already have 2 cheeky boys under my care :p but actually, it'll be a great privilege to sponsor any child that is in need.
A little background about Marjeyoun. Marjeyoun is located 103km to the south of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The project area covers 8 villages/towns with a total population of 80,000 people. Political unrest in the past has caused massive displacement of people and a collapse in the country's economy structure. Current problems faced by the communities in Marjeyoun are unemployment, lack of education and medical services, water and environmental pollutions, youth emigration, agriculture problems in irrigation and pest control.
Ok, so much about my sponsored child. Hopefully, papa and mama will work hard to give Ryan and Jaden a little sister, by God's grace :)

Thomas is in town!
Being a Thomas & Friends enthusiast, Ryan was elated when he was offered a chance to sit in the Thomas train at Mid Valley. So, mummy brought the little boy to the shopping complex, thinking that it was a free ride (as advertised in newspaper) and there would be tons of little boys queing up for the ride.
During the journey there, Ryan was singing the Thomas' theme song. The lyrics are quite catchy and papa can sing it very well too :)
They're two they're four they're six they're eight
Shunting trucks and hauling freight
Red and green and brown and blue
They're the really useful crew
All with different roles to play
Round tidmouth shed or far away
Down the hills and round the bends
Thomas and his friends
Thomas he's the cheeky one
James is vain but lots of fun
Percy pulls the mail on time
Gordon thunders down the line
Emily really knows her stuff
Henry toots and huffs and puffs
Edward wants to help and share
Toby, well let's say, he's square
When we reached, mummy found that it's not really 'free' afterall :p One has to purchase items that cost RM80 before being issued a free voucher for the ride.
Anyway, Ryan had a wonderful time.
Below, waiting for his turn:
And on the ride

New Hair Cut
Last Sunday, we decided to bring the 2 cheeky boys for a haircut at the barber's. Surprisingly, Ryan didn't put up much of a fuss (I was prepared with his favourite Mamee in case he decided to scream) but Jaden's face was quite 'cham' when the barber came with the comb and pair of scissors. Papa held him tight but he continued to cry and cry...poor fella...he must be wondering why this stranger was intruding into his 'space' and doing what-not to his hair...(sometimes I really wonder what goes on in his little mind :))... Anyway, the job was only half done for Jaden and it's only a matter of weeks, maybe, before we need to go back to the barber again...sigh...
And at night, we went to see My Fair Lady. We had the privilege of having grand-mamah over to babysit the boys as we anticipated that the play would end very late. To our dismay, Ryan was still awake when we came home at 11.40pm and it was not surprising that he was very moody at school the next day...sigh...how can we get the big boy to sleep early. In fact, we do not have any problem with Jaden as he's a '9.30pm boy'. He goes to sleep quite on the dot even at times when we're out on the road...I'll just bfeed him, and he'll be in zzzzzzzz land :)

Jaden's 12th Month Checkup
The following conversation ensues during the night after hubby has brought Jaden to Dr Azam's:
Mama : So, how was the checkup?
Papa : Dr said Jaden is 'underweight' - his weight gain has not been as much as the previous checkup and he is below 50th percentile now.
Mama : What is the weight?
Papa : Don't know. Go check the baby book
Mama : (went to check the baby book - blank) So, what is his height?
Papa : Cannot rely on the nurse's measurement either. There was a gap between baby's head and the measurement stick when the nurse measured.
Mama : Haiya...nothing recorded one. You ah...ask you anything also don't know. So you din do anything while you're there lah...
Papa : What din do anything ah? I waited 1+ hour for the doctor leh
(slap slap)
Conclusion : Mama must take time off for Jaden't next and future checkups :)

My First Post
Hehe...hubby has finally decided to add my name as one of his contributors to his blog. Well, from now on it'll be OUR blog :p and I hope that there'll be more frequent updates (plus photos) of our 2 cheeky boys. I'm actually not a very tech-ky person (as my colleague would laugh/tease me often - hah, you're an IT Audit Manager ah! well, one need not be tech-ky to do IT audit, just need to manage ppl mah :p), so it'll take me a while to learn how to post photos of the boys, including putting up a slideshow...
I really want to put up this pix of Ryan yesterday at the Burger King playground/slide, where he posed like a spider-boy on a table, just like the huge spiderman replica outside the shop. The cutie was enjoying himself for an hour, having his treat of chips in-between. Well, I promised to bring him to the slide after my CIA exam yesterday and I didn't want to bring him to the mossie-infected playground at the neighbourhood, so BK was a better alternative. After playing by himself for a while, the little boy asked 'where are my friends?' Secretly, I was thinking 'Boy, you think other parents so free one meh? Aren't you lucky to have your working mum to bring you to BK at 6pm?' hehe...
So much for my first post....

Jaden is 1 Year Old
Times flies eh....
Mr. Cute Jaden has just turned 1!!!!
We actually had to have 2 parties for him since our place was too small to cater to both friends and family (luckily we should be ok next year :) )
Lucky for us, both days were public holiday here.
So on Tuesday (1 May), we had some close friends over for lunch. Our menu was quite extensive, thanks to Krystal (I kept saying don't need so much food lah!!)
We had:
1) Fried Rice
2) Fried Loh Shee Fun
3) Kajang Satay
4) Chicken Nuggets
5) Fries
6) Potato Salad (Krystal's creation)
7) Cocktail Sausages (with Cheese inside!)
8) Fruit Punch (...... Krystal was so serious about this that she downloaded a recipe from the Net)
9) Cheesecake from Secret Recipe (since I couldn't find any Apple Strudel)
It was good fun, but I got tired pretty quickly.... Must have been my Bacardi Limon :)
Then just yesterday night, we had our families over and I cooked Lasagne.... probably first time since last September!!! haha
Unfortunately, the layers of pasta didn't turn out as soft as I wanted - couldn't control the oven well. Hope for next time.
We also had a TON of other food (probably even more than day 1), with Fried MeeHoon, Curry Chicken, Yong Tau Foo, Satay (again).
HAHA... best (or worse) part is that we will be having leftovers for a while!!!!!!!
Pictures to come soon.
